Centrelink staff offer a reliable and effective means of ensuring that customers who are homeless or at risk of homelessness have access to income support and other services provided by Centrelink.
Centrelink Community Engagement Officers:
- Ensure that customers who are homeless or at risk of homelessness have equitable access to, and maintenance of income support payments and other services provided by Centrelink. This involves working in collaboration with both customers and community agencies.
- Provide information and assistance to community organisations to ensure an accurate understanding of entitlement and obligations for their clients.
- Enable customers who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to improve their capacity to participate in education, employment and other opportunities with will assist them to become self-sufficient.
