Riley, 19, had no prior justice involvement until family breakdown, mental health challenges, and substance use led to charges including contravening a Family Violence Intervention Order. Referred to the Youth Umbrella Project, he engaged enthusiastically with weekly appointments.
His case manager coordinated internal referrals to the Youth Behavioural Change Program for emotional regulation support and the Reconnect Program for education and employment assistance. The comprehensive court report highlighting his engagement supported his sentencing to a Therapeutic Community Corrections Order.
